Myopia management rates

What is myopia (nearsightedness) management?

Rather than simply reacting to worsening vision with stronger glasses each year, modern myopia management allows us to actively guide your child's eye development. Like braces for teeth, these treatments are designed to influence growth over time, helping slow the progression of nearsightedness instead of just correcting it. By reducing how quickly the prescription changes, myopia management can reduce the likelihood of high myopia and the increased lifetime risk of retinal detachment, glaucoma, and myopic macular degeneration.

Myopia management baseline evaluation

A visit focused on evaluating the refractive error as well as discussing various options such as specialized glasses lenses, custom contact lenses or eye drops designed to slow the progression of myopia (nearsightedness) in children and teens.
